This portal represents the style built by James Hill's Great Northern Railway. Sometimes referred to as the North Bank Portal, it should look good in any model setting.  Molded in Hydrocal plaster, the portal will take stains and coloring quite nicely. The Highway Portal, shown to the left of the tunnel, is a two lane highway portal modeled after tunnels on SR 14 in southern Washington State along the Columbia River. This portal is typical of two lane Highway portals seen in many parts of the country. This modeled scene is a view of Tunnel # 3 on the Columbia River and was done by members of Columbia River N Scale in Portland Oregon.
