Please check with your local hobby shop for our products. If they don't carry our stock, you can order directly from us.  Orders placed online from this site are processed through a secure encrypted server to ensure your safety and privacy. In addition, we also accept orders by mail or telephone.

To place an order by mail, include Part number, Description, and Quantity with your check or money order. Please include $6.50 for shipping HO orders. Please add $5.00 for N, Z, or small electronic orders.( Domestic orders any scale or size over $125.00 ship free.) Make checks or Money order payable to Details N Scale. Mail to:

We accept all major credit cards and PayPal.  Shipping charges will be added for orders under $125.00. Rates are above previous stated and applies to continental US only.

 Shipments:

Our standard method of shipment is through the US Postal Service.  This includes First Class or Parcel Post for all domestic orders,. and First Class International Mail for all international  orders including Canada. We have found it to be the least expensive and very reliable.

Customers may request other methods of shipment, such as Priority or Express Mail,  or  additional features such as insurance. All domestic USPS shipping should have tracking included in the fee presently. Shipping by UPS, DHL, FedEx, etc would be optional service at a higher rate to our customers. Please email or call before ordering for clarification.

Delivery Times:

As a large percentage of our products are hand made, inventory levels vary and can be out of stock. Our products are also labor intensive and sometimes require time to build and complete customers orders. If we have the item/s in stock, we can ship promptly after payment is processed. If items are not in stock at time of ordering, please allow 2 weeks for completion of assemblies for products. This may vary depending on size of order.

 Items sent to us for service are first come, first served, depending on availability of parts and such. We can notify via email or phone and customers can gladly call, write, or  email  for  times.

International Orders:

Model railroading is a hobby enjoyed worldwide. We prefer to ship  International First Class by the US Postal Service to our international customers. It is very reasonable and in most cases delivery in a week to 10 days.

If you purchase online through our shopping cart's  secure server, a $11.00 shipping/handling charge will be added. Depending on your shipping destination country and the size (weight) of the order, additional shipping charges may be required. We will quickly email you with any additional freight costs. If you wish, we can simply charge your credit card for the additional freight  (with your approval by return email) and then process your shipment.

Our policy on checks:

Please allow time for your check to clear at our bank. Your order will be shipped once your check has cleared. Checks should be made out to Details N Scale and made in US dollars. There will be a $25.00 charge for checks returned for insufficient funds.

Product Returns

The following applies only to orders placed directly with Details N Scale or through the website's shopping cart. Orders placed with hobby shops or distributors may have different return policies.

Items sold by Details N Scale are warranted to be as advertised and to satisfactory to you. Any item may be returned to Details N Scale with in 90 days of purchase for credit or refund by returning it to us prepaid. Shipping charges are not refundable.

It is customer's responsibility to see that products are returned in their original package and in saleable condition (unless defective when you receive it). Please include a copy of your invoice/packing list. A refund or credit will NOT be APPLIED to any returned item that is not in the original (as sold) condition. For example, circuit boards that have had wires attached soldered) to them CANNOT be resold as "new"

Please pack all items carefully. We are not responsible for damage during the return shipment. We suggest that you insure your return package to us if it has a high-dollar value.

A product restocking fee of 10% will be applied to all returns other than those returned for warranty, repair or replacement.
